About Gerald Charles
Perhaps the most fitting label for Gerald Charles, one of the most famous designers in the industry, would be “Maestro”. While he founded the independent, family-run Gerald Charles company in Switzerland in 2000, he had originally become known as the designer of legendary models such as the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Patek Philippe Nautilus and IWC Ingenieur. Thus, traditional watchmaking skills and the latest technology meet legendary designs at Gerald Charles - sporty and highly elegant timepieces are born that make their creator immortal. Genta sold the company in 2003 but remained on board as chief designer until his death in 2011. Each Gerald Charles watch harkens back to his original design philosophy and enables his legacy to live on.
