The co-founders of GENUS, Sébastien Billières, Master watchmaker and creative thinker, and Catherine Henry, strategist, and Chief Operating Officer, shook the watchmaking industry to its very foundations in 2019 and opened a new chapter in the history of watchmaking.

This entrepreneurial duo unveiled a completely new way of showing the passage of time. Without dial or hands, GENUS invented a patented and unprecedented, intriguing way of telling time – the time-telling mechanism as a dramatic performance. Avant-garde yet unwaveringly faithful to the principles of Haute Horlogerie and the tradition of exquisite finishing, GENUS sets its own course. Proudly launched in 2019, the GENUS1.2 WG won the coveted “Mechanical Exception” prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.
