It's all about seconds
CHANEL is changing everything, without changing a thing.
The new CHANEL J12 exudes elegance and ease. The light but sporty design was created by Jacques Helleu, CHANEL’s former Artistic Director. He was particularly inspired by one of his passions: sailing. The J12 takes its name from sailing, too. Helleu was a huge fan of the majestic silhouette of the J12 racing class in the America’s Cup.
It’s so easy to fall in love. Today, 19 years after the J12 first appeared, Arnaud Chastaingt, Director of the design studio for watches, has redesigned the timepiece without it losing its distinctive charm and character. We fell in love straight away all over again. In love with the refined design, with the larger dial opening and its increased number of ridges on the bezel. The original font of the numerals has also been given a makeover and now captivates with an especially refined look.
So, what has changed in the latest model of the J12?
In addition to the refined new design, the interior of the watch has also changed quite a bit. The first J12 was closed with a steel case back. Today the new model shows off its automatic movement though a sapphire glass case back. The 12.1 calibre, a certified and COSC-approved chronometer has over 70 hours of power reserves. The watchmakers are proud of their new movement, which is made exclusively for CHANEL by the Swiss manufacturer Kenissi.
