Since 1884, Breitling has been the undisputed leader in the development of chronographs. The brand enjoys an outstanding reputation around the world thanks to its highly precise timepieces and commitment to its design values. The legendary connection between Breitling and aviation is documented in the history of this brand and its involvement in key moments of humankind's conquest of the skies. Famous for its pioneering spirit, Breitling also made a name for itself in the areas of science, sports and technology. Breitling constructs its watches at its own premises, and the COSC certification together with the “Swiss made” label underscore the quality of every single timepiece it creates.
This year Breitling is launching its new Premier Collection. The five unique, elegant models in the collection all live up to their historic name. The quality craftsmanship and performance prove that they are genuine Breitling watches. Breitling is renowned for its pilot’s and diver’s watches. However, the striking timepieces from the Premier Collection were also designed especially for use on land – the first environment in which Breitling established itself.
Breitling CEO Georges Kern is very clear about the role that the Premier Collection plays in the brand's product portfolio. “This is the first modern Breitling collection that focuses on elegance in daily life. These timepieces encapsulate the unmistakeable DNA of our brand through their outstanding quality and performance, but they are also distinguished by a modern elegance that wonderfully complements their functionality.”
Both the name and the design of the new Premier Collection from Breitling hearken back to the Premier watches of the 1940s. Just like the outstanding films of that era, which were created during a time of global conflict and economic uncertainty, the Breitling watches with their elegant appearance offered a longed-for break from harsh reality.
The new collection, which was developed with a specific link to Breitling’s land theme, was also inspired by some of the brand’s very first models. Just like the original Premier models, which were widely admired for their elegance, the new watches also represent an uncompromising commitment to design excellence. In addition to chronographs, which are largely responsible for the brand's excellent worldwide reputation, the collection includes models with weekday and date displays and sleek three-hand models with a discreet, small second hand.
The new Premier Collection along with historic vintage watches can be explored from 1 December 2018 until 10 January 2019 at Les Ambassadeurs on Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse.
