Urwerk is a brand that defies categorisation, and as such is a natural home for Special Projects – those that simply cannot be easily pigeonholed. Timepieces like the UR-CC1 take an entirely new approach to time display, case physiognomy, and caliber design – to the delight of collectors of avant-garde timepieces.1 3
On the fringes of convention but firmly in the future of watchmaking, Urwerk’s EMC is the first timepiece in the world that can be adjusted by its owner, using a brand-new process of optical frequency measurement. The avant-garde, futuristic EMC doesn’t project itself into the future of watchmaking: it’s already arrived there.2 3
The satellite complication has become the hallmark of Urwerk, having broken altogether free from watchmaking conventions whilst remaining immediately understandable. The complication is Urwerk’s technical and aesthetic signature, and stands as a world apart in watchmaking, prized by a select and faithful few.3 3

This Geneva-based watchmaking brand was born in 1995 from the encounter between Felix Baumgartner and the artist and designer Martin Frey. Founded on a resolutely futuristic aesthetic, Urwerk creations interpret a particularly original satellite-based display concept. This mechanism is expressed in the UR?1001, EMC, UR?210 and UR?110 collections, combined with other unusual functions such as the control board, the oil change indicator or the use of turbines to adjust winding strength. Urwerk also constantly explores new fields of watchmaking expression, as epitomised by the CC1 and its linear time display.
The future of fine watchmaking.
