SIHH 2011: Our favourites from A. Lange & Söhne

>

Transforming technical mastery into a vibrantly contemporary aesthetic: such might well be the definition of watchmaking merit according to the Manufacture A. Lange & Söhne. A principle vividly illustrated by the regulator-type Richard Lange Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite” watch. Inspired by an 1807 pocket-watch, it subtly reveals the carriage of its tourbillon equipped with a patented stop seconds device. The Lange Zeitwerk Striking Time combines its famous jumpingnumeral display with a minute repeater function striking to the tune of Beethoven’s famous opening fanfare leitmotif for his Symphony No.5.
