Les Ambassadeurs, steeped in Swiss history and tradition, held the official opening of its newest boutique in Geneva on November 3^rd 2011. Joachim Ziegler, CEO and Ignaz Steg, director of the boutique’s Geneva branch, celebrated this special occasion at 62 Rue du Rhone with around 600 illustrious guests, all representatives of the global watch and jewellery world, as well as media personalities.The organisers were surprised by the guests’ early arrival, which is somewhat unusual in the city of Geneva. Instead of 7 pm, as stipulated in the invitation, the first guests already started arriving at 6.50 pm! After a few minutes the foyer was already overflowing and the first floor, access to which should have been barred until the start of the official opening ceremony, had to be opened. Never mind! In addition, a long queue of patiently waiting guests stretched all the way along the Rue du Rhone, kept buoyant by the generous servings of champagne and entertainment provided by fanciful and imaginative elves on stilts.

Many snapshots were taken on mobile phones, recording the festive atmosphere.The generous outdoor lighting of the Boutique Les Ambassadeurs guided all guests towards the red carpet leading to the official festivities.The entire boutique, occupying 650m² divided into three separate floors, was illuminated by festive lighting. The glamour of the boutique space vied with that of the guests, and Bash DJ, with his Luxury Grooves, added listening pleasure to all the visual delights. Shortly before 8 pm, Master of Ceremonies, Jean-Baptiste Guillet requested everyone’s attention. CEO Joachim Ziegler’s brief but charming opening address was followed by his cutting of the red ribbon, together with boutique director Ignaz Steg, to officially open the boutique’s top floor. This auspicious moment was accompanied by a flourish of trumpets and drums as well as a stream of gold and silver confetti and an abundant supply of champagne. Remarkable saxophonist, Ismael Kuide, and a dancing sculpture performance, further enriched the atmosphere of this stellar evening enjoyed by happy guests.

Songs performed by the Geneva Live-Band ALOAN were so irresistible that even the elegantly attired gentlemen began clicking their fingers, accompanying the jingle of diamond chandelier earrings adorning glamorous ladies. Catering was exemplary, providing delicious pleasures for the palate throughout the entire evening. From 10 pm, the Espace Connaisseur on the top floor suddenly exploded into party mode. The DJ switched over to dance music, and the guests could no longer be contained. Unfortunately everything comes to an end. Thus, Les Ambassadeurs invited all those reluctant to leave the evening’s festivities to the legendary LE BAROQUE, where the unflagging guests were accommodated in the VIP Lounge.
