Watchmakers have been able to respond to the frantic pace of world travel by providing dual or multiple time-zone displays showing the time in two different places on the globe simultaneously.
Achieving such a technical feat involves precision-related issues that may prove critical and determining factors.
A round-the-world trip on the heart of a dial in the ESPACE CONNAISSEUR in the company of the Zenith brand.
Fine Watchmaking connoisseurs taking part in the final ESPACE CONNAISSEUR evening for 2010, prior to the boutique relocation, felt a slight pang at leaving the original venue. All club members were present, much to the delight of Pierre Jacques, Gianfranco Ritschel, and of Zenith, which partnered the evening.
Thanks to excellent explanations by Yves Corthésy, Director of Movement Development at Zenith, and Gianfranco Ritschel, every aspect of the GMT complication was explained and grasped in full detail. From the 3D simulation of the movement to the final watch, and from local time to the complication itself, watch lovers enjoyed a voyage in the heart of time and space.
