The theme of the Espace Connaisseur evenings which took place in early March in Geneva, Lucerne, Lugano and Zurich was "The Birth of a Watch: from Idea to Reality".
After a short introduction by a specialist watchmaker explaining the process of creating a watch, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Pascal Raffy, the owner of Bovet 1822 and Dimier 1738, to join a round-table discussion with the managers of our boutique. Drawing on his passion for the art of watchmaking, Mr Raffy captivated the large audience as he described the technical process of creating a watch by using the analogy of an orchestra conductor guiding and harmonising the scores and the talents of each of the musicians. By listening to each participant in the process as they follow their own intuition and ideas, Mr Raffy plays a key role in the overall artistic creation. In keeping with the musical theme, iconic watches of the House of Bovet have been given the names Amadeo, Virtuoso and Recital.
We would like to thank the House of Bovet and Pascal Raffy in particular for these very enlightening evenings.
