Hermès is a French family-operated company headquartered in Paris. It has its origin in saddlery and sophisticated leather processing. Today's product selection includes leather goods such as handbags and watches, as well as jewellery, clothing, perfumery and life style accessories.
The collaboration between Hermès and watchmakers has been in place for more than a century. This longstanding tradition began in 1912. A photo of Emile Hermès' daughters from the company archives shows Jacqueline wearing a watch with a strap that her father had made by a saddler. The legendary Parisian Hermès shop at 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré began to sell its own watches for the first time in 1928, featuring clockwork mechanisms from the leading Swiss manufacturers. In 1978, the La Montre Hermès watch production facilities opened in Biel, the centre of Swiss watchmaking expertise. The company opened a leather watch strap factory in 2006 and since then has remained the only watchmaker that produces its own straps as well.
We would be pleased to advise you on the watch collection from Hermès in Geneva and Zurich.
