IWC
International Watch Co, better known as IWC, was founded in 1868 on the banks of the Rhine in Schaffhausen, by the American pioneer Florentine Ariosto Jones. The latter had crossed the Atlantic in order to combine the legendary Swiss watchmaking know-how with the latest American technical breakthroughs. Ever since, the brand’s Probus Scafusia motto, which means “good, solid craftsmanship from Schaffhausen”, has testified to IWC’s tireless quest for technical excellence. The Manufacture, which created the first mechanical digital-display watch in 1885, has made its mark on watchmaking history with lines including its famous Pilot, Portuguese, Portofino and Ingenieur collections featuring pure, timeless designs.
